Job summary

Samuel, Son & Co. seeks an experienced Field Service Technician to install, service, and troubleshoot SPSG equipment at customer sites across North America and beyond. You will diagnose electrical, mechanical, PLC, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues, train customers, and support demonstrations and installations.

The role requires strong PLC and automation knowledge, the ability to read schematics, excellent communication, and a safety-conscious mindset with a willingness to travel extensively.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in a related technical or engineering field preferred; equivalent education and experience may be considered.
• Successful completion of Level II advancement requirements or equivalent approved experience.
• Minimum 5 years of Field Service Technician experience.
• Minimum 2 years of experience servicing SPSG equipment or similar automated machinery.
• Strong knowledge of PLCs, automation controls, electrical systems, pneumatics, hydraulics, and mechanical troubleshooting.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, hydraulic/pneumatic diagrams, and technical drawings.
• Strong communication, customer service, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage multiple priorities.
• Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous professional development.

Responsibilities

• Install, service, troubleshoot, repair, and commission SPSG equipment at customer locations.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, PLC, pneumatic, hydraulic, and automation system issues.
• Provide customer training and technical support related to SPSG equipment.
• Support equipment demonstrations, product trials, and new installations.
• Collaborate with Sales, Engineering, and other internal teams to support customer projects.
• Maintain accurate service reports, documentation, and expense records.
• Travel as required to customer and SPSG locations throughout North America and internationally.
• Maintain company vehicle, tools, and equipment in good working condition.
• Follow all company and customer safety policies and procedures.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and perform other duties as assigned.
