Job summary

EO Johnson Business Technologies is seeking an on-site service technician to deliver, install, configure, and test office equipment at customer locations in the Iron Mountain area and surrounding regions. You will troubleshoot mechanical, electronic, networking, and software issues, and train customers on basic usage and troubleshooting.

Qualifications

• Must have strong mechanical aptitude and basic computer and networking knowledge.
• Experience in a customer-facing or technical service environment is preferred.
• Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities

• Deliver, install, and configure office equipment at customer locations.
• Perform machine setups, including assembly, configuration, and testing.
• Diagnose and repair equipment issues related to mechanical, electronic, networking, media, and software systems.
• Educate and train customers on proper usage and basic troubleshooting of equipment.
• Respond to service calls and resolve customer concerns on-site.
• Maintain inventory of parts, tools, and supplies needed for service and installation.
• Communicate with customers, call coordinators, sales teams, and internal support staff to ensure seamless service delivery.
• Identify opportunities for equipment upgrades or additional solutions and refer to sales as appropriate.
• Maintain a clean, organized company vehicle and work environment.
• Travel regularly to customer sites within the Minneapolis/St Paul metro area and up to an hour outside of the 494/694 beltway.

What We’re Looking For:

• High school diploma or GED required
• Strong mechanical aptitude with basic computer and networking knowledge
• Experience in a customer-facing or technical service environment preferred
• Ability to troubleshoot, problem-solve, and think critically in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication skills with a customer-first mindset
• Self-motivated, organized, and able to work both independently and as part of a team
• Valid driver’s license and a good driving record required
• Ability to lift, move, and install equipment (up to 50 lbs or more as needed)
• Willingness to learn and grow through ongoing training and development
