Job summary

BearCom is seeking a Field Service Technician II to install and support wireless communications systems across customer sites. You will program and troubleshoot RF equipment, interpret schematics, and deploy DAS/BDA networks while upholding customer service excellence.

The role requires 5+ years in service, a strong electronics background, and proficiency with RF theory, test equipment, and MS Office. Some regional travel and on-call duties may apply.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Service Technician experience diagnosing, repairing, programming, and installing Motorola, Kenwood, ICOM, Vertex equipment in the 2-way radio wireless and/or communication field.
• Extensive knowledge of 2-way radio theory and RF propagation characteristics across frequency bands.
• Ability to interpret schematics, blueprints, and diagrams.
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Knowledge of battery backup systems, base stations, repeaters, and DAS/BDA systems.

Responsibilities

• Install and service wireless communications equipment (e.g., UHF/VHF, 800/900 MHz systems, dispatch consoles, DAS/BDA, microwave, CCTV).
• Create mid-level programming codeplugs (12+ channels, trunking, multiple zones).
• Recommend equipment and hardware that meets customer requirements.
• Possibly travel regionally and overnight; on-call hours may be required.
