Job summary

BearCom in Troy, NY is seeking a Field Service Technician II to install and support wireless communications systems. You will work on UHF/VHF systems, DAS/BDA, and related equipment, delivering reliable service to customers.

The role requires strong electronics knowledge, RF theory, and hands-on troubleshooting. Travel and on-call work may be required; you will train and develop skills with on-the-job support.

Qualifications

• 5+ years as a Field Service/Installation technician in RF/mobile radio environments.
• Strong understanding of two-way radio theory and RF propagation across bands.
• Experience diagnosing, repairing, programming, and installing RF equipment.

Responsibilities

• Create Mid-Level Programming Codeplugs (12+ channels, trunking, multiple zones).
• Install and service wireless equipment including UHF/VHF, 800/900 MHz systems, DAS/BDA.
• Recommend equipment meeting customer requirements with onsite support.
• Occasional regional or overnight travel and on-call hours may be required.
