Job summary

BearCom is seeking a Field Service Technician II to install and support wireless communications systems. You will be shaping solutions for customers, implementing codeplugs, and servicing complex RF equipment across multiple platforms in a dynamic field environment.

The role demands strong electronics background, RF theory mastery, and the ability to travel regionally with on-call responsibilities. A technical degree and relevant certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge of 2-way radio theory and RF propagation across bands.
• Ability to read schematics, blueprints, and diagrams.
• Journeyman level within 6 months of employment.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Experience diagnosing, repairing, programming, and installing Motorola/Kenwood/ICOM/ Vertex gear.

Responsibilities

• Install and service wireless equipment (UHF/VHF, 800/900 MHz).
• Create mid-level programming codeplugs (12+ channels, trunking, multiple zones).
• Travel regionally and be on-call as needed.
• Recommend equipment meeting customer requirements.
• Operate test gear including spectrum analyzers, wattmeters, TDRs, FDRs, and multimeters.
