Job summary

K Group Companies in Michigan-based roots is expanding its West Michigan team to support nationwide deployments, including the Ohio market. The Field Service Technician II role requires advanced installation, config/commissioning, and customer training with leadership of Level 1 installers.

You’ll manage diverse projects and ensure high quality standards across complex technology environments. The ideal candidate has a background in construction trades, strong electrical and networking skills,

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years with a previous construction trade
• Advanced knowledge of electricity (high and/or low voltage)
• Hands-on/field experience from previous work experience
• Basic telecommunication knowledge (TCP/IP, general networking, computers, VoIP)
• Ability to identify and use common low voltage cabling
• Working knowledge of basic IT networking, configurations and IP addressing
• Ability to read architectural drawings
• Team management/supervisor experience
• Previous experience completing projects within scope
• Previous experience with service ticketing processes
• 1+ year of knowledge in fire, CCTV, intrusion, emergency nurse call systems
• Excellent communication skills
• Must have valid US Driver’s license

Responsibilities

• Execute all Level I installer roles and responsibilities following documentation
• Demonstrate strong organizational skills for project and service tickets
• Understand project scopes and service expectations, take accountability for tasks
• Lead team by delegating tasks and fostering collaboration
• Mentor Level 1 installers when leading a team
• Maintain communication with Project Delivery Coordinators, Project Managers and customers
• Work with nurse call, card access, and video surveillance systems
• Pursue leadership and communication professional development
• Perform Factory Authorized Testing (FAT) before installation
• Configure and commission systems to deliver reliable, fully operational solutions
• Accept additional duties as needed
