Job summary

Clean Harbors in Detroit, MI is seeking a Field Service Supervisor to plan, lead, organize and coordinate the daily operations of the service line crew. This includes responsibility over proper operation of equipment, driving operational efficiencies at the work site and ensuring accurate documentation related to the job is completed in a timely fashion.

Note this position requires new hires to attend our two-week Academy training out of state.

Qualifications

• Environmental field service operations experience.
• Ability to travel overnight up to 2-4 nights per month.
• Ability to be on-call for emergency response situations.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Proven ability to interface with clients and management.
• Ability to manage project documentation.

Responsibilities

• Ensure Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes.
• Read work order and ensures all required equipment is available and operational prior to starting jobs.
• Inspects equipment and general work area prior to starting any job.
• Correct deficiencies that may cause accidents, injuries, lost productivity or harm to equipment.
• Communicate and perform preventative and corrective maintenance on equipment when required.
• Complete all paperwork including service receipts and submit to management.
• Train Technicians I and II in equipment operation and service line processes.
• Operate all necessary equipment in service line per training and safety procedures.
• Practice safety procedures as per training and guidelines.
• Provide industrial services using appropriate techniques and regulations.
• Perform maintenance on valves, hoses, pumps and related equipment.
• Maintain cleanliness in the work areas.
• Lead safety meetings and ensure HPC safety policies are followed.
• Meet progress deadlines and allocate resources efficiently.
• Instruct and direct crew to complete work per client requirements and company policies.
• Enforce company policies and manage personnel as needed.
• Follow local, state/provincial and federal regulations.
• Safely operate vehicles per DOT and regulations.
• Observe company operating guidelines and environmental health and safety standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Be on call for emergency response on rotating basis and involved in site remediation and hazardous materials handling.
