Schneider’s Field Service Representatives play an impactful role within the organization - collaborating with customers, team members, and third-party partners to perform assembly, startup, diagnostic, repair, and preventive maintenance on both Company and third-party manufactured equipment in various environments. We provide all Field Service Representatives with direct product training and training on all digital and physical tools associated with their work. Schneider Electric supplies service vehicles, tools, uniforms, mobile devices, and laptops for daily use.

This is a site-based position with occasional nonstandard hours. It guarantees 40 hours per week (+Overtime), primarily at customer sites.

This role focuses on servicing equipment related to power distribution and critical power infrastructure within our U.S. Services business.

Typical daily tasks include:

  1. Pre-site, startup, repair, preventive maintenance, and field modifications of equipment
  2. Problem-solving with customers, electricians, sales partners, technical support, and District Service teams
  3. Completing field service reports, expense reports, preventive maintenance, and startup data sheets
  4. Collaborating with your Manager or Regional Service Director to resolve complex issues
  5. Engaging in continuous learning and training on various products both in the field and classroom

On some days, you might also:

  1. Travel regionally or nationwide, including overnight stays by vehicle or air
  2. Support senior technicians and Project Management on larger system start-ups
  3. Work with larger teams of FSRs and collaborate on higher complexity projects
  4. Act on behalf of the District Service Manager to resolve operational issues

Ideal candidates will have:

  • An Associate’s degree, trade/vocational certification, Military training, or similar electrical-related experience
  • Ability to read blueprints and schematics
  • Understanding of AC and DC power principles and components
  • At least 2 years of field service repair and customer service experience with UPS systems, power distribution, switchgear, and related electrical or electro-mechanical equipment
  • Knowledge of safety practices and adherence to safety procedures and policies
  • NFPA-70E or OSHA experience (preferred)
  • Safe driving and vehicle operation skills
  • Proficiency with test and diagnostic equipment
  • Ability to interpret schematics, drawings, and manuals
  • Strong communication skills for writing reports and responding to customer inquiries
  • Physical ability to perform strenuous tasks, including lifting up to 40 pounds and working in various environmental conditions
