Qualifications

Schneider’s Field Service Representatives play an impactful role within the organization, collaborating with customers, team members, and third-party partners to perform assembly, startup, diagnostic, repair, and preventive maintenance on both Company and third-party manufactured equipment in various environments. We provide all Field Service Representatives with comprehensive product training and training on all digital and physical tools required for their work. Schneider Electric supplies service vehicles, tools, uniforms, mobile devices, and laptops for daily use.

This role offers a home-based, flexible work schedule with a 40-hour guarantee (+ overtime).

This position is within our U.S. Services business, specifically our Secure Power & Cooling Services team, focusing on critical data center equipment servicing. We are the OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) service provider for APC (American Power Conversion)/MGE/Schneider Electric equipment.

Typical daily responsibilities include:

  • Pre-site, startup, repair, preventive maintenance, and field modifications of equipment
  • Problem solving with customers, electricians, sales partners, and technical support
  • Completing field service reports, expense reports, preventive maintenance, and startup data sheets
  • Resolving complex escalated issues with managers or Regional Service Directors
  • Participating in ongoing learning and training on various products both in the field and classroom

On some days, you may also:

  • Travel locally or nationwide to support customers
  • Assist on larger system startups with the Field Project Manager
  • Represent the District Service Manager to resolve operational issues

Ideal candidates will have:

  • An Associate degree, vocational training, or equivalent experience in HVAC/R, electronics, electrical disciplines, or military training
  • At least 2 years of experience in Field Services or similar industry roles
  • Safe driving and vehicle operation skills
  • Proficiency with test and diagnostic equipment
  • Ability to read schematics, drawings, and manuals
  • Strong written communication skills for service reports and correspondence
  • Ability to lift and move service equipment weighing up to 50 pounds

Within your first 90 days, you'll participate in two weeks of in-person training at our state-of-the-art facility in Dallas, TX, with all expenses paid. Afterward, you'll continue with online training, paired with a local mentor for on-the-job learning.
