Job summary

Altorfer Industries is seeking a Field Supervisor to oversee dispatch, efficiency, and discipline of field technicians. The role requires deep knowledge of construction equipment repair, strong dispatch organization, and focus on customer relations.

Responsibilities include leading daily operations, coordinating activities, managing work orders, quotes, and safety programs, with a compensation package reflecting industry standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years’ experience as a service technician in heavy equipment or related fields.
• At least 2 years in management or leadership roles.
• Advanced user of Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Working knowledge of Caterpillar DBSi, SIMS 2 and PSEL is a plus.
• Working knowledge of DSI dispatch system is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular meetings to coordinate activities and communicate company strategy.
• Manage workflow and scheduling to maximize shop efficiency and customer satisfaction.
• Oversee service, repair and reconditioning of machines in the field.
• Manage field service communications and work order processes from opening to invoicing.
• Develop quotes for complex jobs and obtain approvals.
• Enforce work rules and company policies; monitor WIP.
• Conduct semi-annual performance reviews for direct reports.
• Ensure operations meet industry and company performance metrics.
• Participate in sales calls with Sales Reps when needed.
• Perform safety inspections on field vehicles and programs.
