Job summary

Vertiv is seeking a Field Supervisor to lead a service team in start-up, commissioning, and troubleshooting of electrical switchgear (480VAC/15kVAC) and related equipment. The role focuses on providing expert technical support, safety leadership, and clear communication with customers and internal teams.

The ideal candidate has extensive field experience in electrical power distribution, switchgear, ATS, and related systems, with strong problem-solving and project supervision skills.

Qualifications

• Electrical field education or military equivalent with 9–10 years field experience.
• Knowledge of Electrical Power Distribution, Generators, Switchgear and ATS.
• Strong understanding of NEC, OSHA and NFPA safety standards.
• Ability to read electrical diagrams and blueprints; summarize work.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; customer-facing skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, train and assist field service technicians in the area.
• Perform complex troubleshooting, tests, inspections and appraisals on electrical systems.
• Lead large projects including commissioning, turnkey work, and power surveys.
• Develop tests and inspections for new field services areas.
• Prepare estimates, proposals, fieldwork, scheduling, reports and billing.
• Provide timely, detailed reports and maintain safety/quality procedures.
• Interface with clients and drive business development.
• Maintain training and certifications for area associates and oversee on-the-job training.
