Senior Site Lead - Switchgear Start-Up & Commissioning

Job summary

Vertiv seeks a Site Leader to oversee startup, commissioning, testing and inspection services for large, high-profile customers in the Switchgear and Busbar business. You will be the main Vertiv Service representative from factory tests through site completion, building rapport with customers, co-workers and sales reps.

Responsibilities include coordinating start-up and testing, reviewing scope, training personnel, and ensuring project manpower and documentation are in place.

Qualifications

• Graduate of electrical technical school or military equivalent with 6+ years in related work.
• High school education or equivalent.
• Construction management experience with switchgear, busbar and power distribution is a plus.
• Knowledge of construction, electrical and mechanical contracting.
• Knowledge of engineering, manufacturing processes and data center infrastructure.
• Strong safety knowledge and procedures.
• On-site customer consultation and expert field presentation skills.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication abilities.
• Ability to manage customer expectations under pressure.
• Strong organizational and management skills.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Ability to read electrical diagrams and blueprints.
• Ability to provide technical assistance by phone to customers.
• Ability to evaluate and direct customer-site activities.
• Lift at least 50 pounds regularly.
• Good vision abilities and attention to detail.
• Customer-first mindset and proactive communication.

Responsibilities

• Represent Busbar Service at customer and contractor meetings for assigned projects.
• Use standard PM tools to achieve quality, financial and schedule targets.
• Coordinate start-up, commissioning, inspection and site testing activities.
• Review sales order scope and customer procedures; train personnel accordingly.
• Define and manage manpower for the job; gather all documentation.
• Coordinate with order management, production, logistics and service teams.
• Provide on-site technical support and assist contractors during installation.
• Provide daily status reports to management and customer; resolve issues promptly.
