Job summary

IEM is seeking a Field Service Lead to manage and optimize a team of field service technicians and engineers across multiple customer sites, combining hands-on startup/commissioning with leadership responsibilities. This working-lead role supports 2–6 active sites with about 8 technicians, travel up to 75%, and close collaboration with project and operations teams.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent in power distribution equipment.
• Minimum of 2 years field service experience with startup/commissioning.
• Experience with switchgear, distribution systems, and control systems preferred.
• Understanding of lock-out/tag-out (LOTO) procedures.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Lead start-up and commissioning activities across multiple customer sites, ensuring on-time completion.
• Provide daily supervision, mentorship, and training to field service technicians.
• Serve as technical lead with advanced troubleshooting guidance to technicians and engineers.
• Travel to manufacturing or field service facilities for training, tests, and shop activities.
• Identify project risks and report to management for action.
• Coordinate with commercial and administration teams for scope outside start-up/commissioning.
• Ensure technicians have tools, materials, and documentation to perform work.
