Job summary

Rockwell Automation invites engineering students to join our Field Service Intern program within Lifecycle Services. The role offers hands-on experience by traveling to customer sites, assisting Field Service Engineers, and supporting customer issue resolution in person.

Applicants must be enrolled in a 4-year engineering degree program and have legal authorization to work in the U.S. GPA 3.3+ is preferred, with strong communication and teamwork skills to engage with clients and colleagues.

Qualifications

• Active enrollment in a four year or advanced engineering degree program at an accredited university.
• Legal authorization to work in the U.S. (no visa sponsorship)
• Cumulative GPA 3.3+ in Mechanical, Electrical or Computer Engineering (preferred)
• Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills
• Experience collaborating with diverse groups, including clients, peers, and managers

Responsibilities

• Travel to customer sites with a Field Service Engineer to understand in person support interactions with Rockwell Automation Customers.
• Support our customers and field personnel with troubleshooting and resolving customer issues in person.
• Experience the responsibilities of a Field Support Engineer in Motions & Controls to learn how they approach troubleshooting in their respective area of work.
• Manage customer interactions by setting expectations, capturing the issue, resolution and steps taken to troubleshoot, and following up with customers in a timely manner.
