Job summary

Vertiv is seeking a Customer Engineer in Columbia, SC to install, commission and service Small to Large UPS, Power Distribution Units and battery systems (2-120KVA). Travel to customer sites is required; on-site and phone support will be provided to customers, with strong adherence to safety and administrative procedures.

Strong communication, teamwork, and the ability to work under supervision or independently after training are essential.

Qualifications

• ASEET/AMEET preferred or in progress.
• 4+ years military experience in a related technical field.
• 2+ years of relevant industry experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform service tasks as assigned and per company policies.
• Capable of working under direct supervision or independently after training.
• Render on-site and phone assistance to customers.
• Communicate with Technical Support on technical issues.
• Implement Field Change Notices per guidelines.
• Keep current on safety bulletins and field change notices.
• Maintain safety and on-site worksite compliance.
• Complete administrative tasks (timecards, expense reports, etc.).
• Provide professional communication to customers and internal teams.
• Strive for a first-time fix and high customer satisfaction.
