Job summary

SAI Advanced Power Solutions, INC. is seeking a Field Service Engineer to troubleshoot and commission switchgear both at the Franklin Park facility and at customer sites. You will read schematics, adjust PLC settings, and oversee commissioning activities with customers.

Travel up to 50% and irregular hours are expected. A B.S. in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering and 5+ years in switchgear are required, along with strong teamwork and communication skills.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in switchgear and related testing.
• Proficient with Visio and AutoCAD for schematic interpretation.
• Excellent English communication and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to travel up to 50% for field work.

Responsibilities

• Read and understand electrical schematics.
• Modify electrical drawings to meet SOP requirements.
• Manage PLC file settings and controller configurations.
• Lead commissioning and represent SAI to customers.
• Install, commission, troubleshoot, and measure switchgear in field.
• Train customers on SAI switchgear systems.
• Troubleshoot issues and ensure conformance to design and standards.
• Collaborate with Quality and Engineering to resolve manufacturing problems.
• Create and sign off on test inspection documents.
• Travel up to 50% with flexible schedules.
