Job summary

SMA America is seeking a Field Service Engineer to support warranty repairs and commissioning of SMA utility inverters in the field across the Western US. The role is based in Goodyear, AZ, with travel within the region and relocation to Goodyear is encouraged for candidates outside the commuting area.

You will develop deep product knowledge, perform on-site commissioning and repairs, and coordinate with customers and internal teams to ensure high service quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent renewables experience.
• At least 3 years of experience in electrical, electronic, and/or network communications.
• Ability to analyze and solve problems effectively.

Responsibilities

• Assists with commissioning, troubleshoots, repairs, and analyzes SMA America's utility inverters in the field.
• Develops knowledge of SMA's utility inverter products and accessories.
• Maintains an accurate inventory of spare parts.
• Works with high voltage DC, three-phase power, and inverter software/firmware.
• Keeps customer satisfaction high while reducing field service costs.
• Supports maintenance activities per SMA product manuals on assigned sites.
• Other duties as needed.
