Job summary

SMA America is seeking a Field Service Engineer for the Central region, based in the Dallas area. The role is field-based with significant travel and requires residency in Dallas/ Fort Worth; you will support inverter installations, maintenance, and warranty work across sites.

Qualifications

• Current residence in the Dallas–Fort Worth metro area.
• At least 3 years of experience in electrical, electronic, and/or network communications.
• Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent renewables experience.
• Ability to work nonstandard hours to support service contracts.
• Ability to meet travel requirements of the role.

Responsibilities

• Assists with commissioning, troubleshooting, repairs, and analyzes SMA America's utility inverters in the field, by email, telephone, and site visits.
• Works with high voltage DC electricity, three-phase power, and inverter software/firmware.
• Conducts maintenance per SMA product manual on assigned sites per contractual obligations.
• Develops knowledge of SMA inverter products and accessories.
• Maintains accurate spare parts inventory.
• Maintains high customer satisfaction while reducing field service costs.
• Other duties as assigned.
