Job summary

SMA America is seeking a Field Service Engineer to commission, troubleshoot, and repair utility inverters in customer sites across the Central region, with a focus on Corpus Christi. The role requires travel and field-based work, with home-office setup in the Corpus Christi area.

You will diagnose issues, work with high voltage DC, three-phase power, and inverter software, and maintain spare parts inventories while ensuring high customer satisfaction and adherence to safety standards.

Qualifications

• Residence in the Corpus Christi area.
• At least 3 years in electrical, electronic, and/or network communications.
• Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent renewables experience.
• Ability to work nonstandard hours and a nonstandard schedule as needed to support service customer contracts.
• Ability to meet travel requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist with commissioning, troubleshooting, repairs, and analyses of SMA America's utility inverters in the field.
• Work regularly with high voltage DC electricity, three phase power, and inverter software/firmware.
• Perform maintenance activities per SMA manuals on assigned sites and contractual obligations.
• Develop knowledge of SMA inverter products and compatible accessories.
• Maintain accurate spare parts inventory.
• Maintain high customer satisfaction while lowering field service costs.
• Other duties as may be required.
