Job summary

SMA America, the U.S. subsidiary of SMA Solar Technology AG, seeks a Field Service Engineer for the Blythe, CA area to support warranty work, commissioning, and field repairs on SMA utility inverters in the Western region.

The role requires residence within reasonable commuting distance of Blythe, CA or relocation, plus travel and a solid technical background in electrical/electronic systems. Competitive compensation and benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent renewables experience.
• At least 3 years in electrical, electronic, or network communications.
• Willing to relocate near Blythe, CA or reside within commute distance.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist with commissioning, troubleshooting, repairs, and data analysis of SMA inverters in the field.
• Develop detailed knowledge of SMA inverter products and accessories.
• Maintain accurate inventory of spare parts provided by SMA.
• Work with high voltage DC, three-phase power, and inverter software/firmware.
• Maintain high customer satisfaction while helping lower field service costs.
• Perform maintenance per SMA manuals at assigned sites per contracts.
