Job summary

Jobtailor seeks a Project/Controls Engineer to lead scope development, cost estimation, and technical specs for power and water retrofit projects in Houston.

You will conduct site walkdowns, evaluate bids, coordinate with vendors, and support installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting at customer sites.

BS in engineering, 3+ years experience, knowledge of Ladder Logic, P&ID, DCS/PLC, and strong communication are required; travel up to 50–75%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in engineering or STEM field.
• Minimum 3 years of related experience.
• Experience managing/coordinating projects.
• Knowledge of power plant sub-systems.
• Understanding of basic networking.
• Travel up to 50–75% of the time; seasonal travel.
• Preferred: Ladder Logic, P&ID, DCS/PLC experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop project scopes and cost estimates for power and water retrofit projects.
• Conduct site walkdowns and develop installation cost estimates.
• Develop technical specifications and coordinate with third-party vendors.
• Evaluate contractor bids for installation work.
• Manage and coordinate regional projects, including planning and scheduling.
• Lead technical and project meetings and document outcomes.
• Design, review, implement, and test control systems for power and water applications.
• Develop and maintain control system databases, logic, and operator interfaces.
• Provide installation, startup, commissioning, and troubleshooting support at customer sites.
• Build and sustain customer relationships through clear communication.
