Job summary

ABB in Riverville, VA is seeking a Field Service Technician to execute service work per instructions, maintain the quality control solution, and communicate timelines with customers on-site.

You will diagnose electrical and mechanical issues, perform preventive maintenance, and participate in upgrades or new functionality while coordinating with other groups. On-call for emergencies; travel up to 15%.

Qualifications

• HS diploma/GED with 2+ years of related experience or an Associate’s degree.
• Ability to use electrical test equipment such as voltmeters or multimeters.
• Mechanical/Electrical aptitude with understanding of electrical theory and safety.
• Read electrical drawings and diagnose faulted systems up to 240 VAC/870 VDC.
• Comfortable using basic hand tools and performing preventive maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Maintain quality control hardware and software on-site.
• Resolve customer service issues while maintaining relationships.
• On-call for 24-hour emergency support and weekend coverage.
• Document preventive and corrective maintenance tasks.
• Coach technicians, supervise on-site activities, and mentor colleagues.
