Job summary

Teledyne Technologies Incorporated seeks a Field Service Engineer to ensure customers’ laboratory and process operations run reliably, safely, and at peak performance. You’ll perform on-site calibration, maintenance, and repair, acting as the face of the service organization with professionalism and problem-solving skills.

The role involves working independently and with a supportive team, providing training, guidance, and proactive service to prevent downtime and business interruptions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Chemistry, or related field; Associate degree with experience considered.
• 5–10 years of equipment troubleshooting, calibration, or repair experience.
• Experience servicing analytical or laboratory instrumentation.
• Proficiency with spreadsheet and word-processing software.
• Ability to travel up to 75% of the time and maintain a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and optimize hardware, software, and network-connected products at customer sites.
• Perform routine and complex maintenance, calibration, and repair of laboratory and process equipment.
• Diagnose performance issues and recommend solutions that improve equipment reliability.
• Provide customer training and technical guidance to enhance proper equipment use and preventative care.
• Respond proactively to potential issues to minimize downtime and unplanned business interruptions.
• Serve as a technical resource for colleagues and customers, occasionally mentoring other field engineers.
• Support high‑volume customer locations with on‑site calibration services.
• Ensure professional, timely communication and a strong customer service experience.
