Job summary

Lam Research in Hillsboro, Oregon is hiring a Field Service Engineer to install, repair, and maintain Lam’s semiconductor equipment at customer sites. You will diagnose complex issues, minimize downtime, and work with teams to deliver effective solutions.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor's degree in Electronics/Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, have hands-on experience with capital equipment, and are willing to travel domestically and internationally.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Electrical, Mechanical, Engineering or related field.
• Experience in installation, maintenance, repair, or troubleshooting of semiconductor capital equipment.
• Ability to interpret electrical and mechanical schematics and operation manuals.
• Ability to work in a clean room environment with PPE.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site repair, maintenance service, and complete installation/relocation start-up services of Lam’s complex systems at customer sites.
• Troubleshoot, perform diagnostics, isolate issues to component level and minimize downtime.
• Stay up to date on semiconductor capital equipment and Lam products through learning and certification.
• Assist in complex field modifications and maintain records coordinating activities between Lam and the customer.
• Serve as a subject matter expert representing Lam to customers and deliver satisfaction.
• Troubleshoot and create customer response action plans to support customer needs.
• Discuss opportunities and challenges with customers to increase trust.
• Provide technical instruction and mentor junior engineers.
