Archetype Services is seeking a Field Service Engineer in Illinois to troubleshoot and configure lighting and building automation control systems for diverse clients. You will work with contractors, designers, engineers and end-users to meet code and client specs while maintaining clear communication.

The role emphasizes problem-solving, high-quality customer service, and ongoing manufacturer training; travel up to 60% after factory certification is expected.

Qualifications

• Strong customer service, verbal, and written communication.
• Troubleshooting electrical systems; signal flow and equipment function.
• Experience in low-voltage system installation or setup.
• Experience with lighting control, technical theatre, or high-end home automation.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex issues with minimal assistance.
• Time management under strict timelines in fast-paced environment.
• Comfort interacting with clients and managing expectations.
• Proficiency in Outlook/Skype and Microsoft Office.
• Willingness to travel 60% of the time after certification.
• Reliable vehicle, valid driver's license and insurance.

Responsabilités

• Provision and troubleshoot control systems serviced by Archetype Services and designed according to electrical plans and energy codes.
• Coordinate with on-site contractors and facility managers to ensure proper system installation.
• Integrate control products with third-party systems.
• Identify and mitigate risks and customer impact; manage escalations; balance business needs with technical and project constraints.
• Troubleshoot unresponsive devices and coordinate with manufacturers for repair.
• Capture and share best-practice knowledge.
• Communicate proactively, be passionate, flexible, innovative, customer-focused, and honest.
