Job summary

Acuity Brands Lighting is seeking a Regional Field Support Technician to perform on-site startups, diagnostics, troubleshooting, and customer training for Acuity’s lighting and control systems. You will maintain customer satisfaction and collaborate with Engineering to identify improvements.

The role requires a strong electrical/mechanical background, at least 2 years in field service, and the ability to lift up to 75 lbs and work at heights. Frequent travel up to 85% is expected.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years’ hands-on field service experience in electrical and mechanical roles.
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs frequently.
• Work at heights up to 100 feet using ladders or lift equipment.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license and passport required.
• Experience troubleshooting and commissioning switchgear, transformers, MCCs, or VFD-driven systems.
• Experience in industrial or commercial power distribution environments.
• Strong aptitude in electrical systems, control technologies, and schematic interpretation.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Windows operating systems.
• Ability to communicate complex technical information clearly and effectively.
• Ability to work independently and with cross-functional teams.
• Comfortable with varied indoor/outdoor environments.
• Ability to operate hand and power tools safely.

Responsibilities

• Perform on-site service visits per company policies.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, program, and repair lighting and control systems.
• Provide technical support to internal teams and customers.
• Serve as subject-matter expert during engagements and escalations.
• Prepare detailed field reports after service calls.
• Conduct on-site training sessions on system operation and maintenance.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Manufacturing on product/process improvements.
