Job summary

Nikon SLM Solutions AG is seeking a Field Service Engineer to perform on-site installation and field service across the Americas. The role focuses on mechanical and electrical setup, precision alignment, and establishing customer network interfaces at client sites.

Travel will be heavy (mostly United States) with occasional national and international trips. Requires hands-on tech expertise and experience with automation systems in manufacturing environments.

Qualifications

• Hands-on mechanical and electrical troubleshooting experience with industrial equipment.
• Ability to read electrical schematics.
• Experience with 3D printing technology, specifically Metal Laser Powder Bed Fusion.
• Hands-on experience with automation systems in manufacturing plants.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site field installation and field service to install complete systems at customer locations throughout the Americas.
• Collaborate with customer personnel to ensure successful installation and start-up.
• Engage, teach, and train customer personnel on level 1 system use for Nikon SLM Solutions equipment and peripheral machines.
• Attend meetings with customers to discuss installation or repair status and timing.
• Communicate installation or repair status frequently to the customer and the Service Manager.
• Work closely with the Service Manager to ensure customers are served with excellence.
