Job summary

Hitachi Energy is seeking a Field Service Engineer to join our team in Mount Pleasant, Pennsylvania. You will work hands-on with advanced industrial equipment, performing installations, inspections, and preventive maintenance while delivering on-site support to customers.

You will diagnose complex electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and software issues, provide expert guidance, and train customers and less experienced engineers. Travel and strong collaboration are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering or related field.
• 3–5 years of experience supporting, maintaining, or repairing complex industrial equipment.
• Strong knowledge of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Ability to read schematics, blueprints and wiring diagrams.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel, including overnight stays.
• Experience in field service is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform installation, commissioning, preventive maintenance, and repair on industrial equipment and systems.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and software issues.
• Provide on-site technical support and guidance to customers.
• Deliver operator training and maintenance best practices.
• Collaborate with engineering, sales, and support teams to improve products and outcomes.
• Maintain service documentation, repair records, and spare parts inventory.
• Communicate updates and findings clearly.
• Mentor junior field service staff.
• Ensure compliance with applicable regulations and internal procedures.
