Job summary

QuidelOrtho is seeking a Field Engineer I to support customers across the Anaheim, CA area. This field-based role includes a company car, gas card, cell phone, and laptop, with maintenance covered by the company.

Candidates must be able to attend in-person meetings and travel as needed within the territory. The role requires 4+ years of electromechanical field service experience, an Associate's degree in electronics or related field, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Electronics or Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or equivalent field service experience.
• Minimum 4 years experience installing, operating, maintaining, repairing, and modifying electromechanical equipment, preferably in the field.
• Must have strong customer-facing skills and ability to travel across territory.
• Valid driver's license is required and ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
• Extended hours and travel (50–75%) required, including Rochester, NY during training.

Responsibilities

• Install, operate, maintain, repair, and modify electromechanical equipment in the field and troubleshoot problems.
• Determine technical solutions per product and customer specs and advise company or customer reps accordingly.
• Analyze product implementations and enhancements per customer specs and implementations.
• Assess customer needs and recommend solutions aligned with product specs.
• Provide technical training and product briefings to customers, vendors, and company reps; act as on-site representative for the customer.
• Manage territory responsibilities including preventive maintenance, upgrades, and software/hardware support.
• Handle parts management, online training, and administrative reporting.
