Job summary

Lam Research in Austin, TX is seeking a Field Service Engineer to support and optimize semiconductor equipment at customer sites. You will repair, install, and relocate complex systems, ensuring high operational uptime and customer satisfaction.

You will troubleshoot issues, perform diagnostics, and stay current with Lam products through training and certification. Willingness to travel is required, with opportunities for on-site and flexible working arrangements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Engineering, or related field with 2+ years of experience; or an advanced degree without experience; or equivalent work experience.
• Proficiency in interpreting electrical and mechanical schematics, diagrams, and operation manuals.
• Able to travel domestically and internationally as required.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality on-site repair, maintenance service, and complete installation/relocation start-up services of Lam’s complex electro-mechanical and electronic systems at customer sites.
• Perform analytical problem-solving, troubleshooting, conduct diagnostics, isolate issues to the component level, and take corrective actions or request assistance to minimize downtime.
• Keep up to date on semiconductor capital equipment and Lam products through learning, training, and certification.
• Maintain records and reports to coordinate activities between Lam and the customer.
• Serve as a subject matter expert, representing Lam to customers, delivering exceptional customer satisfaction.
• Discuss opportunities and challenges with customers to increase trust.
• Update customer on status of Lam tools as needed.
