MKS Instruments, Inc. in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a Field Service Engineer to install, diagnose, and repair high-tech vacuum systems and related equipment. This role requires daily in-office visits to customer sites and significant travel.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of field service experience, an associate or bachelor degree, strong troubleshooting skills, and proficiency with MS Office and SAP. US citizenship or green card preferred for ITAR considerations.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Bachelor's degree and/or Certification is preferred.
• 5+ years of related practical experience.
• Exceptional troubleshooting skills with electrical, mechanical and vacuum systems.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proficiency with PC skills including MS Office, SAP, and data analysis applications.
• Willingness to travel up to 20–30% of the time.

Responsibilities

• System installation, diagnose and repair of vacuum-related equipment.
• Maintain operational functionality of scientific and industrial vacuum systems.
• Instruct customers in operation and maintenance of the systems.
• Serve as company interface with customer and factory on technical matters.
• Determine methods and procedures on new assignments.
• May include shift, weekend and on-call coverage.
• USA and international travel for support and training.
