Job summary

Honeywell International, Inc. is seeking a Field Service Engineer I for the Gas Detection team at Hillsboro, OR. This onsite role supports customer operations, provides advanced field troubleshooting, and contributes to training and development of the field organization.

You will engage with customers to ensure safe, reliable gas-detection systems, document activities, and collaborate with Technical Support and Engineering on complex issues.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in electronics or related technical field or 1–2 years of field service experience.
• 1–2 years of experience using MS Office for documentation and reporting.
• Basic understanding of electrical systems, troubleshooting, and field service operations.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to customer sites.
• 2+ years of gas detection, HVAC controls, instrumentation or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot hardware and software, solve complex equipment problems.
• Provide direct support to internal and external customers.
• Investigate and resolve technical issues with timely reports.
• Act as conduit between Field Service and Technical Support/Engineering.
• Develop training curriculum for field organization.
• Document all activity and communication accurately.
