Job summary

Honeywell INC. is seeking a Field Service Engineer I - Gas Detection to support, train, and develop the field team in Hillsboro, OR. You will troubleshoot gas-detection systems, assist customers, and work with internal groups to resolve complex issues onsite.

You will help develop training curricula, document activity, and maintain safety and quality standards while delivering timely customer solutions in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Electronics, Engineering Technology, Instrumentation, HVAC, Fire Alarm Systems, or related field, or 1–2 years field service experience.
• 1–2 years experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, SharePoint, PowerPoint) for documentation and reporting.
• Basic understanding of electrical systems, troubleshooting, and field service operations.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to customer sites.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot hardware/software, diagnose and resolve complex equipment issues.
• Provide direct support to internal and external customers.
• Coordinate with Technical Support and Engineering for advanced issue resolution.
• Document analysis work with timely, detailed reports.
• Maintain team competency and skills certification.
• Communicate clearly across multiple disciplines and teams.
