Job summary

Supermicro is seeking a Service Engineer to perform fieldwork at customer sites to repair and support server systems. This role requires strong technical aptitude with enterprise servers and excellent interpersonal skills to support our global service network.

You will troubleshoot, maintain, and resolve complex issues, collaborate with managers to define service programs, and travel to client sites up to 25% while training new engineers and contributing to field operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent work experience preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years experience in field support servicing complex X86 systems and parts preferred.
• Work experience in large enterprises or certification in Windows and Linux environments is a plus.
• Hands‑on experience with servers (Supermicro, EMC, DELL, HP).
• Solid hardware diagnostics skills and understanding of BIOS, drivers, and application loads.

Responsibilities

• On-site and remote troubleshooting and resolving complex technical problems on Supermicro equipment in an enterprise environment.
• Drive customer satisfaction through service excellence by leading preventive maintenance actions and managing repair/parts cycle times.
• Provide 2nd line support to the reseller/distributors in all aspects of customer support.
• Train new service engineers and travel to the field to train and resolve issues.
• Produce meaningful reports and metrics related to service activities.
