Job summary

Supermicro is seeking a Service Engineer for fieldwork at customer sites to resolve and repair server systems. This full-time role supports the Global Service Team stationed in Sterling, VA, requiring strong technical aptitude and excellent communications to manage post-sales support across enterprise environments.

The role demands hands-on server hardware experience, robust BIOS/driver knowledge, and the ability to work independently while coordinating with engineers and account managers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, and Electrical Engineering preferred.
• 1+ years of experience in servicing complex X86 systems and parts.
• Associates degree in electrical technology, electronics, or equivalent military experience.
• Work experience in Windows and Linux environments is a plus.
• Solid hardware system diagnostics skills; BIOS, drivers, and applications can cause issues.

Responsibilities

• On-site and remote troubleshooting and resolving complex technical problems on Supermicro equipment in an enterprise environment.
• Drive customer satisfaction through service excellence by leading preventive maintenance actions and managing repair/parts cycle times.
• Provide 2nd line support to the reseller/distributors in all aspects of customer support.
• Travel to the field to train and/or resolve customer issues; train new service engineers.
