Job summary
Shimadzu Scientific Instruments is seeking a Field Service Engineer to join our team in Maryland, responsible for repair, maintenance and performance verification of analytical instrumentation. You will work on demo equipment and instruments returned from customers, with opportunities for in-house bench work and travel to client sites.
The role emphasizes strong technical knowledge of HPLC, GC, LCMS and AA, along with excellent communication and customer-relations skills.
Qualifications
- Associate degree in Electrical Engineering or Technology; bachelor's preferred.
- At least four years repairing analytical instrumentation (HPLC, GC, LCMS, AA or similar).
- Strong technical knowledge of these technologies and excellent communication skills.
- Willingness to travel to support customers.
Responsibilities
- Provide daily repair and maintenance support for assigned products.
- Conduct in-house bench repairs as needed and handle field service calls with limited supervision.
- Travel within the local region (day and overnight trips) to support customers.
- Offer technical support via phone regarding repairs, maintenance and installations.
