Job summary

Renishaw is seeking a Service and Support Engineer to install, maintain and repair its 3D additive manufacturing products. The role requires hands-on technical work and strong customer-facing communication from a base in Illinois, with extensive travel.

You will diagnose issues, perform preventive maintenance, and produce detailed service reports while coordinating parts and support across our Americas team. The position emphasizes safety and quality workmanship.

Qualifications

• Minimum: Associate degree or technical college in mechanical, electrical, or automation engineering.
• Up to 2 years of field service experience in additive manufacturing or CNC machining.
• Eligibility to access ITAR controlled data and comply with export laws.

Responsibilities

• Assist on-site location preparations.
• Install and commission new machines and ancillaries at customer site.
• Provide safety, operation and maintenance training.
• Perform preventive maintenance tasks.
• Diagnose repairs and replace wear parts.
• Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems.
• Prepare service reports detailing time and expenses.
• Coordinate travel arrangements and travel up to 90% domestically.
• Provide telephone and email support for troubleshooting and parts.
