Job summary

Renishaw is seeking a Service & Support Engineer based in West Dundee, IL. The role involves on-site installation, preventive maintenance and repair of advanced 3D additive manufacturing equipment, with frequent travel to customer sites.

You will diagnose electrical and mechanical issues, provide training and support to customers, and generate detailed service reports to ensure top-quality service and rapid issue resolution.

Qualifications

• Associates or Technical College degree in mechanical, electrical or automation engineering.
• Up to 2 years of related field service experience in additive manufacturing or CNC machining.
• ITAR data access eligibility may be required to work with controlled information.

Responsibilities

• Assist on-site at customer location to prepare site and install new machines and ancillary equipment.
• Install, commission, and ensure safe operation of Renishaw equipment at customer sites.
• Provide safety, operation and maintenance training; perform preventive maintenance tasks.
• Diagnose and repair technical issues; identify parts to replace and manage spare parts.
• Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems and determine effective solutions.
• Produce detailed service, time and expense reports for clients and Renishaw.

We are looking to recruit a Service and Support Engineer. Based out of the West Dundee, IL office, travel expectations for this role typically exceed 75%.This is an excellent opportunity to use your technical knowledge along with interpersonal skills to deliver service, advice and support to include the installation, maintenance and repair of Renishaw’s innovative 3D Additive Manufacturing products. You will help ensure coverage of our customer base and maintain Renishaw’s reputation for high quality service and response.**Principal Duties & Responsibilities*** Assist customer on site specific location preparations.* Installation, commissioning of new machines & ancillary equipment at customer site.* General safety, operation and maintenance training.* Perform specified preventive maintenance task.* Diagnose and complete recommended repairs and replace wear and spare parts* Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems/equipment failures and determine solution.* Assist in the organization of required spare parts or other necessities prior to service intervention.* Produce detailed reports to client and Renishaw including: Service, Time and Expense Reports.* Provide telephone and email customer and team support for troubleshooting and ordering parts.* Assist solution center in testing, operation and customer acceptance steps of equipment.* Complete travel arrangements on most cost and time effective terms.* Travel up to 90% domestically.* Other Duties as Assigned or Requested**Qualifications****Education and Experience:** ***Minimum**** Associates or Technical College, mechanical, electrical or automation engineering degree or* Up to 2 years of related field service experience in additive manufacturing or CNC machining. The applicant must demonstrate eligibility to use and access such ITAR controlled data.
