Job summary

Emerson is seeking a Field Service Engineer based in Tinley Park, IL to join a team of customer support engineers that install, startup, and maintain complex distributed control systems at customer sites.

The role requires up to 75% travel, including overnight trips, with a hybrid work option when not traveling; you will provide on-site instruction, engineering advisory support, and complete reports on activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science or a similar technical curriculum, or equivalent work experience.
• At least 2 years of experience engaging with customers for installation of control systems and related software.
• Willingness to travel up to 75% and operate with limited sponsorship availability in the US.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.

Responsibilities

• Conduct on-site instruction of customer personnel.
• Direct efforts of customer personnel during installation and maintenance of control systems.
• Provide engineering advisory support and liaison within Emerson.
• Create complete and timely reports detailing activities and problems encountered.
