Job summary

Shermco Industries is seeking a NETA Field Service Technician to perform electrical testing, maintenance, and repair on distribution systems at customer sites.

The role travels locally to regional sites with potential overnight travel, requiring NETA certification or equivalent, 2+ years of relevant experience, and an EPC/EE degree. A valid driver's license, English fluency, and strong PC skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Must have NETA Certification (I, II, III or IV) or equivalent.
• 2+ years of experience testing & troubleshooting switchgear.
• ABET-certified EPC/EE degree or military power training.
• Must be able to travel locally/regionally and overnight.
• Proficient with PC tools; Excel; email and data entry.

Responsibilities

• Travel to customer sites (industrial & commercial) to inspect, test, troubleshoot and collect data on electrical systems.
• Perform tests: instrument transformers, power transformers, insulation tests and relay tests.
• Test electro-mechanical and solid state relays; perform cable testing (Tan Delta, Power Factor, VLF, DC Hipot).
• Test automatic transfer switches and high/low voltage switchgear and breakers.
• Calibrate relays and perform power metering; rotate on-call duties and respond to emergencies.
