Job summary

Bigge Crane and Rigging Co. is seeking a Field Service Mechanic to repair and maintain rough terrain, crawler, and mobile crane equipment, plus forklifts. Travel to customer sites is required, sometimes overnight, with on-call nights and weekends.

You will diagnose electrical, drive train, hydraulic, and engine issues, read schematics, and manage your tool inventory. A high school diploma is required; vocational training and experience are highly valued.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of repair/maintenance of rough terrain, crawler, and mobile crane equipment.
• Vocational training may substitute for experience.
• Able to travel on short notice and stay overnight.
• Clean driving record and ability to drive service truck.
• High school diploma required; higher education a plus.
• Strong work ethic and safety mindset.
• Read hydraulic and electrical schematics.
• Work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Repairing and maintaining crane equipment with focus on service and repair.
• Travel to customer sites for repairs, often overnight.
• Diagnose electrical, drive train, engines, hydraulic, and controls issues.
• Read schematics for hydraulic and electrical systems.
• Maintain tool inventory and drive company service truck.
• Communicate clearly with customers and supervisors.
• Support crane brands knowledge is a plus.
• On-call nights and weekends for crane repairs.
