Bigge Crane and Rigging Co. in Portland, OR is seeking a Field Service Mechanic to repair and maintain rough terrain, crawler, and mobile crane equipment, with a focus on service and repair of the gear.

Applicants should have a strong background in electrical, drive train, engines, hydraulics, and computer-controlled systems, plus 3–5 years of mobile crane experience. Travel is required, and you may be on-call nights and weekends at customer sites.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of experience repairing and maintaining rough terrain, crawler, and mobile crane construction equipment.
• Perform annual certifications and inspections.
• Ability to perform tasks independently without direct supervision.
• Computer literate with the ability to process information.
• Strong work ethic with a commitment to quality.
• Knowledgeable in troubleshooting various crane equipment lines ( Manitowoc, Grove, Terex, Tadano, Broderson, Kobelco, Liebherr).
• Must supply own hand tools and keep up-to-date tool inventory of service trucks.

Responsibilities

• Repairing and maintaining rough terrain, crawler, and mobile crane equipment with focus on service and repair.
• Must have strong background in electrical, drive train, engines, hydraulics, and computer-controlled systems.
• On-call nights and weekends for crane repairs at customer sites.
• Able to travel on short notice and be gone overnight or several days.
• Communicate effectively and professionally with customers and staff.
• Knowledge of assembling/disassembling crawler cranes is a plus.
