Job summary

Bruker is seeking a field-based engineer to install, qualify, and maintain Bruker Nano Surfaces and Metrology instruments at customer sites. You will troubleshoot start-up issues, qualify instruments with customer samples, and provide hands-on training to users.

You will diagnose complex electro-mechanical hardware/software problems, lead teams when needed, and document activities in the support system. Occasional travel to training and customer sites is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of related experience with a Technical degree.
• Or 3 years with a Bachelor degree.
• Or a Masters degree with no experience.
• Proven ability to install, qualify and train customers on complex instrumentation.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Install and qualify Bruker Nano Surfaces and Metrology instruments, upgrades, and accessories.
• Troubleshoot start-up issues to meet objectives.
• Qualify instruments using standard customer samples.
• Diagnose and resolve complex instrument issues with minimal guidance.
• Lead cross-functional teams when complex issue is outside own area of expertise using engineering problem solving methods.
• Create and maintain activity records in support database.
• Perform preventative maintenance and re-certification of instruments.
• Educate customers on theory of operation and provide training.
• Demonstrate instrument capabilities on Bruker or customer samples.
• Provide post-sale training and support samples leveraging experience to enable customers.
• Collaborate with factories to develop new applications.
• Develop customer relations and drive Bruker business including service products.
