Job summary

Interface Systems is seeking an experienced Security and Fire Alarm Technician to diagnose and resolve issues across Intrusion, Fire, Video Surveillance, and Network systems. You will install, service, and test cabling, wireless devices, and electronics while upholding OSHA safety policies.

Strong field experience and a valid driver’s license are required; NICET is a plus. The role involves on-site customer interaction, inventory control, and occasional on-call rotations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; Vocational/Technical/Business School strongly preferred.
• Valid driver’s license.
• NICET Certification is a plus.
• Verifiable field experience.
• Ability to read and understand technical documents and drawings.
• Solid understanding of telecom, data, security, and wireless systems practices and safety standards.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Able to pass state/federal background checks to become a registered security installer.
• Comfortable using hand and power tools.
• Authorized to work in the United States.
• Able to work outdoors in all weather; travel overnight may be required.

Responsibilities

• Install, repair and maintain intrusion, fire, video surveillance, network and VoIP systems.
• Work in the field to resolve service issues efficiently.
• Train customers on Interface-provided systems.
• Maintain inventory levels and document items per policy.
• Install and terminate network cabling and perform firestops.
• Interface with customers and vendors on projects and service requests.
• Perform field duties at customer sites and manage tools and vehicles.
• May include rotating on-call duties.
