Job summary

Interface Systems in Austin, TX is seeking an experienced Security Alarm Technician to install, troubleshoot and service intrusion, fire, video surveillance, network and VoIP systems across facilities. You will diagnose issues, install cabling, terminate connections, and train customers on the interfaces provided.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; Vocational/Technical/Business School, strongly preferred.
• Valid driver's license.
• NICET Certification is a plus.
• Verifiable field experience.
• Ability to read and understand technical documents and drawings.
• Solid comprehension of telecom, data, security, and wireless systems terminology.
• Knowledge of safety standards and practices (federal, state, local).
• Computer proficiency including Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to pass state and federal background checks to become a registered security installer.
• Comfortable using small hand tools and power tools.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States of America.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Schedule flexibility and willingness to travel overnight

Responsibilities

• Install, repair and maintain Intrusion, Fire, Video Surveillance, Network and VoIP integrated systems.
• Work in the field with the most efficient methods to solve service issues.
• Train customers on Interface provided systems.
• Maintain acceptable and accurate inventory levels by conducting physical inventory counts.
• Verify and submit all documentation for inventoried items according to company policy.
• Install and terminate network and security cabling.
• Firestopping various types of cable penetrations.
• Understand, adhere to, and promote OSHA Health & Safety policies
• Interface with customer contacts on projects and service requests.
• Interface with the end-user and coordinate with vendors for each project.
• Hands‑on field interaction with customers at the site level.
• Maintain assigned vehicle and tools.
• The position is full‑time and may include rotating on‑call duties.
• Schedule flexibility and willingness to travel overnight
