Job summary

Graybar is seeking an Outside Sales Representative in Wichita, KS to develop new prospects and maintain relationships with established customers, promoting Graybar products at customer sites and other off-site locations.

This role aims to meet or exceed the annual gross margin budget, handle customer concerns promptly, travel extensively, and participate in trade shows and sales meetings to grow the customer base.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years experience required; 6+ years preferred.
• 4 year degree preferred.
• Knowledge of business administration, sales, and marketing.
• Negotiation skills.
• Ability to learn our business and to work independently to achieve goals.
• Ability to sell and be persuasive.
• Extensive travel required, including some overnight travel.

Responsibilities

• Meeting or exceeding annual gross margin by promoting and selling products in the assigned territory.
• Handle customer complaints promptly and report potential claims.
• Keep management informed of local competition and market conditions.
• Carry out sales and merchandise programs as directed, and recommend new items for stock.
• Maintain current customer records, files, and reports of transactions; assist in collection of past due accounts.
• Participate in training sessions, trade shows, and sales meetings as requested.
• Demonstrate products after sale when necessary.
