Job summary

ScottsMiracle-Gro seeks a Sales Manager to lead our Field Sales team in building strong relationships with major home center retailers and expanding in-store presence across our brands. You will manage a territory, drive sales plans, and oversee Merchandisers while managing budgets.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum of 1 year experience in retail, merchandising, and/or account management.
• Experience supervising others and managing a budget is preferred.
• Strong delegation skills.
• Ability to work independently with little supervision.
• Experience using sales forecasting tools.
• Problem solving and service orientation.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including holidays and weekends.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to lift up to 45 lbs and endure weather elements.

Responsibilities

• Manage and direct Merchandiser work including planning, scheduling and feedback.
• Use strategic selling tactics to educate home center partners on opportunities.
• Develop retail sales/marketing plans and events.
• Develop recruiting plans, interview, hire and manage Merchandiser team while budgeting.
• Provide product training across Scotts brands.
• Assist retailers with proper merchandising and PoS materials.
