Job summary

Graybar Electric Company, Inc. is seeking an Outside Sales Representative to sell our products in a specialized market. You will develop new prospects and maintain contact with established customers, regularly visiting them at their site of business or other off-site locations.

The role requires at least 3 years industry experience (4+ preferred) and a 4-year degree preferred. You will manage accounts, upsell, handle complaints, travel extensively, and participate in training sessions and trade

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years industry-specific experience required.
• 4+ years experience preferred.
• 4 year degree preferred.
• Knowledge of business administration, sales, and marketing.
• Negotiation skills.
• Ability to learn our business and to work independently to achieve goals.
• Ability to sell and be persuasive.
• Extensive travel required, including some overnight travel.

Responsibilities

• Meet or exceed annual gross margin budget by promoting and selling products in the assigned territory.
• Handle customer complaints promptly and report potential claims.
• Keep management informed of local competition and market conditions.
• Carry out sales and merchandise programs and suggest new items for stock.
• Maintain current customer records, files, and reports of business transactions.
• Assist in collection of past due accounts.
• Participate in training sessions, trade shows, and sales meetings as requested.
• Demonstrate products after sale when necessary.
