Job summary

Graybar Electric Company, Inc. is seeking an Outside Sales Representative to develop new prospects and maintain contacts with established customers for selling company products, and to interact in person at the customer's site or other off-site locations.

You will meet or exceed the annual gross margin budget, handle customer complaints, report market conditions, implement sales programs, maintain records, participate in training and trade shows, and demonstrate products after sales as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of sales experience required.
• 6+ years of experience preferred.
• 4 year degree preferred.
• Knowledge of business administration, sales and marketing.
• Negotiation skills, strong persuasiveness.
• Willingness to travel extensively, including overnight stays.

Responsibilities

• Develop new prospects and maintain contacts with established customers for selling company products.
• Meet or exceed assigned annual gross margin budget by promoting and selling in the territory.
• Handle customer complaints promptly and report potential claims.
• Keep management informed of local competition and market conditions.
• Carry out sales and merchandise programs as directed and suggest new items for stock.
• Maintain current customer records, files, and reports of transactions; assist in collecting past due accounts.
• Participate in training sessions, trade shows, and sales meetings; demonstrate products after sale when needed.
