Job summary

Toyota Automated Logistics seeks a Field Application Engineer to promote the latest automation technologies to industrial and distribution customers in the Seattle area. You will build strong relationships, assess needs, and present tailored material handling solutions using robotics, AGVs, and automation software.

This hybrid role requires 2+ years engineering experience, a mechanical or MET degree, and proven technical sales ability.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical or MET preferred).
• 2+ years engineering experience outside academia; technical sales experience needed.
• Must be eligible to work in the US long term without sponsorship.

Job description

A Field Application Engineer promotes the latest technologies within the Automated Material Handling industry to customers. They develop strong relationships with the industrial and distribution clients in a geographical area and provides them with exceptional material handling and automation solutions to meet their business requirements. This role allows you to work with some of the latest technologies in the ever-changing material handling field including robotics, mobile robotics, autonomous vehicles, AGV’s, and more.

This person will work hybrid in the Seattle, WA 98134 area.

Job Functions

• Develop strong relationships with our customers through timely, regular visits
• Assess needs and present solutions tailored to customer specifications
• Sell a wide variety of products and services to meet your customer's needs
• Collaborate with other Toyota Automated Logistics entities to provide the best solution to the customer
• Master business technology (AutoCad, CRM, Power Point presentations, etc.)
• Pursue leads from our Web Site and suppliers
• Communicate strategic information regarding suppliers, customers, and competition
• Network with business contacts within the territory and industry
• Master product information through training and personal efforts

Travel Requirements:

• 25% overnight travel (expenses paid by Toyota Automated Logistics)
• Must maintain a valid drivers license

Preferred Skills and Required Qualifications

• Must be eligible to work in the US long term without sponsorship
• Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline (Mechanical or MET preferred)
• 2+ years work engineering work experience outside of academia
• Technical Sales experience needed, industrial sector preferred
• Material handling automation design and sales experience
• Strong presentation
• Entrepreneurial and competitive personality
• Employees must follow all information security policies, protect confidential data, complete required training, and report any suspected security incidents to support our information security controls.

Total Variable Compensation: $120-180k (consists of base salary + commission)
